During the visits, the companies were connected with local experts, pitched to investors, and met potential UK partners.

In collaboration with the British Embassy in Bern, 2023 also saw the start of a new “Swiss UK Medtech Mission”. Ten Swiss Medtech start-ups joined us for an intensive four-day programme in London and Leeds to learn more about the UK healthcare ecosystem.                                  

Switzerland has become a hub for startups, topping the Global Innovation Index for the past thirteen years.

The Embassy’s Science and Innovation team has supported firms in areas including Femtech, Fintech, Cleantech and Life Sciences to better understand the UK market, including via two 2023 bootcamps organized alongside Global Tech Connect which explored the commercial opportunities of the UK’s Net Zero economy and AI landscape.
