On the first day, the delegation visited factories of F1 heavyweights RML, Multimatic and Cosworth. Chris Aylett, CEO of Motorsports Industry Association, then shared his expertise with the delegation at their hotel overlooking Silverstone Circuit. Day 2 included site visits, in co-ordination with Silverstone Technology Cluster, to Delta Cosworth, Silverstone Composites, Digital Manufacturing Centre and Lunaz. The delegation of prospective Swiss exporters represented Neural Concept, GreenGT, Suter Racing, LENR Cars, Composites Busch, and Combustion and Flow Solutions.

The group explored opportunities in vehicle electrification, (3D) carbon-fibre printing, just-in-time mass engine production and sustainable business strategy. After Silverstone, many delegates were keen to consolidate their findings at the World Motorsport Symposium 2023. This year’s symposium took place at the Swiss Embassy for the second year running, courtesy of RaceTech Magazine. The Business Hub thanks Ambassador Markus Leitner for introducing the symposium and hosting a dinner for the Swiss delegation and symposium VIPs.

GreenGT, world leaders in renewable semi-conductor manufacturing from Lausanne, remarked they were “truly impressed” by a mission “brimming with engaging meetings”. Lars Jäger, Director of Turbenthal’s MotoGP world champions, Suter Racing, welcomed the mission’s “great” opportunities for knowledge exchange.
