Throughout the month of June, the Swiss Embassy will tour the UK, with events and meetings held in Cambridge, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Belfast, Manchester, Bristol, Cardiff and Oxford to highlight the many links between Switzerland and the UK.
The Embassy of Switzerland in the UK and the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce will be jointly holding an event in Manchester on Thursday 16 June to find out more about Switzerland’s Footprint in the Northern Powerhouse. We aim to highlight the many UK-Swiss links that already exist in the Greater Manchester area and to facilitate productive business relationships that can drive future innovation and growth.
We will be joined by the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, who will share his vision and strategy on how to foster and open up new opportunities for cross-border partnerships in Research & Innovation, especially in sectors like digital, tech, health and advanced manufacturing.
Delegates will also hear from Swiss companies who are already investing in the region, who will present on the topic of Research & Innovation and the growing footprint they have in the region. The British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce will give a short speech, highlighting the work of the Chamber and the opportunities for British-Swiss collaboration.
We are innovative. We are creative. We are sustainable. We are committed. We are connected. We are Switzerland.
