The climbing of ladders
Can be murder on the knees
The climbing of ladders
listening
For the squeaks and grunts of approval
the struggle to ascend
with no time to enjoy the view
too easy
to get caught up
in the thrill
until asked
if you are happy or sad
and you have to say
that honestly
you don't know
